Granny 3 is a stealth-based adventure-horror game that pits you against your returning nemesis - your grandmother. Most people wouldn't think that a grandmother could be very scary. But anyone who's played the first two Granny games can attest to the fact that she's not someone to mess with.

The first game pitted you against your terrifying grandmother. The second chapter brought an equally terrifying grandfather into the mix. But in the third adventure, you're faced with true terror - three deadly opponents. Granny and grandpa are back and this time around they are joined by a spectral foe called Slendrina. The new spectral enemy doesn't just add more of the same to the game either. Slendrina's movement is faster and quite distinct from granny and grandpa.

The gameplay in Granny 3 is primarily stealth-based. Granny, Grandpa, and Slendrina will continually patrol the house. It's your job to evade them for a full five days. The basic gameplay should be familiar to anyone who's enjoyed the first two Granny games. However, there have been some important changes since those initial outings. This time around players have a whole new map to enjoy. And they'll navigate it and the other areas using a new control setup and an option to interact with items.

You'll only have five days to find a way out of granny's domain. The house is full of traps, puzzles, and other dangers. But at the same time, your investigations might turn up safe areas. New hiding spots will give you a moment of safety when granny or her cohorts draw near.

Granny 3 provides a nice mix of the old and the new. The basic concept has been maintained over all three entries. Your fundamental goal is always focused on evading your Grandmother, or her cohorts, as she tries to track you down. In that sense returning players will find the exact qualities they loved from earlier entries. But they'll find that the addition of Slendrina changes things significantly.

Now there are three points of danger a player will need to worry about. On top of that Slendrina is considerably faster than the elderly couple. Combine that speed with her tendency to appear right in front of the player and it's easy to see how it's a whole new challenging experience.

In fact, having a 3D space where enemies can appear from three different sides might seem like too much to handle. This is especially true for players who've never tried the first two games. Someone coming in without any prior experience evading Granny might find the three opponent system a little hard to master. Thankfully, the developers anticipated this by including a practice mode. The practice mode gives players a chance to learn the game's mechanics in a less challenging environment. All in all, Granny 3 provides a fast-paced experience that's great for returning fans and new players alike.
